I’m a behavioral scientist pursuing research at the intersection of intergroup relations, stigma, and authenticity. In my current program of work, I take an interdisciplinary (i.e., psychology, sociology, history, anthropology, etc.) approach to investigating how minorities navigate and experience the tension between expressing themselves in ways that make their minority identity salient vs. assimilating to the norms of the dominant group, even if it isn’t their preference. My graduate training is primarily experimental, including field experiments and interventions, but I also leverage observational studies using web scraping or field data.
